Electric Race Gokart with 20kW motor
- A homologue standard gokart has been changed from petrol to pure electric. As a member of EV-Sport Team, the owner of PowerChild Kft was asked to design and work out a new motor for race gokart. So, the mechanical calculations and CAD design made by PowerChild Kft – in 2010.
- The stator of motor was given, as a standard IEC-stator with special wound coils, but the other parts needed to be done. The special shaped permanent magnets of the 6-pole rotor was a custom made, unique solution designed by EV-Sport specially for this race motor. The rotor itself desiged and produced by PowerChild Kft.
- It was really a good coopertaion: The rotor was designed and machined by PowerChild Kft, then the magnets were glued on rotor at EV-Sport Team and the rotor balancing step was made at our outside partner”s workshop, at Aerometál Kft. Then, the rotor came back to PowerChild Kft worksop for final assembly to complete motor.
- The up-to-date motor ECU was designed and build at EV-Sport Team‘s workshop. Also, the new battery packs of Li-ion cells were made at EV-Sport. The high-tech motor ECU (vector control) with light battery and sinusoidal magnetic field high power motor was a unconquerable combination for our competitors – still had old type brushed DC-motors. 🙂
