MOTOR WINDING

LV (max 400V) AC induction motors -steps of winding:

  • Collect Motor Data
  • Investigation root cause of Motor destroyed
  • Disassembly
  • Log of winding data
  • Calculation of new winding data – in case of re-winding for different speed or voltage
  • Starter- and Operational Capacitor calculation  – in case of re-winding from 3-phase to 1-phase
  • Cleaning of motor parts, checking its quality
  • Insulation
  • Create coils (produce bobbins necessary)
  • Placing coils into stator slots
  • Place Temerature detectors (usually, 1 or 2 sensors per phase)
  • Final forming coils and cording
  • Impregnation
  • Drying
  • New Bearings if necessary
  • Assembly
  • Testrun, measure parameters
  • Photo documentation of each motor; For future reference, data stored in a database.
  • I have already several things re-wound such as motors, ignition coils, tranformers, and toroid. Till now, the smallest thing was a miniature stepper motor of a Casio watch: 8000 turn of 63micron diameter copper wire wound on it. The biggest was: a 10kW 2-Pole 3 phase induction motor.
