MOTOR WINDING
LV (max 400V) AC induction motors -steps of winding:
- Collect Motor Data
- Investigation root cause of Motor destroyed
- Disassembly
- Log of winding data
- Calculation of new winding data – in case of re-winding for different speed or voltage
- Starter- and Operational Capacitor calculation – in case of re-winding from 3-phase to 1-phase
- Cleaning of motor parts, checking its quality
- Insulation
- Create coils (produce bobbins necessary)
- Placing coils into stator slots
- Place Temerature detectors (usually, 1 or 2 sensors per phase)
- Final forming coils and cording
- Impregnation
- Drying
- New Bearings if necessary
- Assembly
- Testrun, measure parameters
- Photo documentation of each motor; For future reference, data stored in a database.
- I have already several things re-wound such as motors, ignition coils, tranformers, and toroid. Till now, the smallest thing was a miniature stepper motor of a Casio watch: 8000 turn of 63micron diameter copper wire wound on it. The biggest was: a 10kW 2-Pole 3 phase induction motor.
