PMSM MOTOR DEVELOPMENT
- Nowadays, the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSM) are getting more and more in focus in automotive market. The simple brushed DC-motors have several problems which are solved by simple BLDC motors and the new PMSM motors and FOC ECUs (Field Oriented Control, or Vector Control).
- The aviation market is also a great possibility for the up-to-date electric drive train, but the lightweight construction with high torque even more important. For this kind of challenge, the Outer Rotor PMSM motors could be a really good way to develop, because a huge mass of cooling air is given when flying.
- The advantages of Outer Rotor is high torque, high performance and the easy way to cool the magnets and coils.
- A lightweight, 15kw (18kW peak) motor is under development by PowerChild Kft. The motor total weight is 6.0 kg.
- The mechanical calculation, CAD-design, power/weight optimisation and production documents made by PowerChild Kft. The electromagnetic calculation and FEA analysis made by an outsider partner.
- The most parts machined and produced by PowerChild Kft, and some other parts machined by Aerometál Kft as an outsider partner.
- Motor winding, insulation, impregnation, assembly and balancing was made by PowerChild Kft.
- New motor ECU is going on to be developed also by PowerChild Kft.
